Gretchen's Community: Empowering Communities

Our Story

At SOOAR (Strategies to Overcome Obstacles and Avoid Recidivism), we are a Metro Detroit-based nonprofit committed to empowering individuals and transforming communities. We focus on serving those most impacted by systemic barriers, offering support, resources, and advocacy to help them thrive. Our mission is rooted in the belief that healing and progress happen through collective effort. Join us as we work to uplift lives, dismantle obstacles, and build a healthier, more equitable future for all.

Our Impact

At SOOAR, we believe in the power of community to drive change. Our goal is to uplift, educate, and empower those most often overlooked.
